This ventilator is based on existing parts and services found in most hospitals, readily available electronic and mechanical parts and a few small 3D printed parts that can be provided as a kit.

Techincal Details

The SLAC acute shortage ventilator project team consists primarily of scientists and engineers at the SLAC national laboratory working with medical professional and clinicians.

The project was started in March 2020 and we built the first prototype by May 2020. Since then we have been testing updated prototypes and refining the control and monitoring software.

As of July we are seeking corporate partners to continue to certify and distribution of our design.
